One of Van Cleef & Arpels most iconic designs, the Alhambra was first created in the late 1960s and remains a highly collectable jewel for the French jewelry firm today. Adorning the necklines of women throughout the world, the Alhambra is collected by many including Charlize Thereon, Reese Witherspoon, Katie Couric, and royalty such as Princesses Caroline and Charlene of Monaco. One notable collector to mention being Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco and mother to Caroline, who owned several of the long necklaces. With the simple use of a quatrefoil motif, four leaf clover, Van Cleef & Arpels created a timeless look with its repeating pattern and endless use of materials such as diamond, gold, coral, lapis lazuli, mother-of-pearl and carnelian to name a few.
Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and wristwatches all decorated in the quatrefoil pattern are available for purchase on the market but quickly sell. J.S. Fearnley sees the beauty in the Alhambra design and looks globally for these jewels to offer to our clients at a reduced price compared to retail. Typically each piece is accompanied by a certificate from Van Cleef & Arpels, currently we have a lovely coral and gold Alhambra necklace, see the details here.
